This part-time position with the potential to transition to full-time by August 2026 invites those skilled in economics and journalism to contribute to critical discussions on fiscal and monetary policies. With a commitment to delivering valuable news, you will leverage your expertise to analyze trends and report on essential economic data swiftly and accurately.
Key Responsibilities:
• Attend Statistics Canada lock-ups and reports
• Keep comprehensive calendars of economic data
• Produce bullet summaries and long-form analytical articles
• Write engaging stories from economic trends
• Liaise with officials for expert interviews
Requirements:
• Degree in economics, journalism, or related field
• Business reporting experience is a plus
• Understanding of economic data movement
• Strong writing and verbal communication skills
• Proficient in Excel and willing to learn new tools
Contribute to shaping conversations around economics while developing your reporting expertise in Ottawa.
