Overview
Our public sector client is seeking an experienced Senior Business Consultant to support strategic health services planning within a complex federal government environment. This role will play a key part in advancing strategic initiatives related to the future delivery of health services, with a particular focus on Arctic and Northern operations, capability development, and long-term organizational planning.
Responsibilities- Lead strategic and operational planning initiatives supporting military health services modernization
- Support the implementation of strategic campaign objectives related to Arctic and Northern Health Services
- Contribute to the development of a dual‑use health services program in collaboration with federal partners
- Provide strategic advice on health services capability development and future operational requirements
- Conduct business needs assessments, feasibility studies, and concept development activities
- Prepare briefing notes, executive presentations, reports, assessments, and strategic planning documents
- Review existing policies, reports, and strategic documentation to identify opportunities for improvement
- Engage with senior stakeholders across the Department of National Defence, the Canadian Armed Forces, and other federal organizations
- Represent the organization at planning forums, governance committees, and strategic working groups
- Support institutional modernization initiatives and contribute to strategic doctrine and planning activities
- Prepare monthly progress reports outlining completed work, recommendations, outstanding activities, and project status
- University degree in Business Administration, Public Administration, Health Administration, Strategic Studies, Policy, or another relevant discipline
- Minimum of ten plus (10+) years cumulative experience in any of the following areas:
- Strategic level planning
- Operational level planning
- Project management for a major capital investment (valued at $25 million or greater)
- Strategic or Operational level assessments
- Minimum of 2 years experience within the last 10 years working with Canadian Forces Health Services or a Provincial or Territorial Health Agency in planning or implementing a strategic or operational level plan, project, program or process
- Demonstrated deployed experience in the Canadian Arctic Theatre of Operations:
- Lived or deployed to the Arctic working with DND/CAF or a Government of Canada contingent
- Lead, planned and conducted deployed activities in the Arctic as part of an event
- Interacted with locals in the Arctic as part of the event
- Minimum of one (1) year of experience within the past ten (10) years working with DND/CAF
- Minimum of one (1) year of experience within the last five (5) years using Microsoft 365 applications:
Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint, and Teams - Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
- Current Security clearance at the level of Reliability
- Contract award until July 31 2028
