where you will be workingnasittuq supports operations across the north warning system (nws), a network of remote sites located throughout canada’s arctic. Based in ottawa, you will support contract administration, procurement, subcontract management, and commercial activities that sustain critical northern infrastructure and operations.

why this role?this role offers an opportunity to work on complex contracts, procurement initiatives, and commercial activities supporting a critical national defence program. You will collaborate with customers, suppliers, subcontractors, and internal stakeholders while developing expertise in contract management, procurement, proposal support, and government of canada contracting.
what you'll do:- maintain accurate, complete, and auditable contract, subcontract, procurement, and commercial records throughout the contract lifecycle.
- prepare, negotiate, issue, administer, and amend contractual instruments including contracts, subcontracts, purchase orders, terms and conditions, and supplier agreements.
- serve as a point of contact for customers, subcontractors, vendors, and internal stakeholders regarding routine contractual and commercial matters.
- provide guidance on contractual obligations, deliverables, compliance requirements, and contract administration processes.
- administer and maintain contract deliverables tracking systems, ensuring contractual submissions are monitored and reported accurately.
- maintain contract and procurement information within merx, maximo, oracle, sharepoint, and other corporate systems.
- manage departmental correspondence by monitoring inquiries, assigning actions, tracking outstanding items, and ensuring timely responses.
- lead competitive subcontract and procurement activities, including preparing solicitation documents, coordinating bidder communications, facilitating evaluations, and supporting subcontract awards.
- review statements of work, technical requirements, and project objectives to support compliant and commercially sound sourcing decisions.
- monitor contract performance, funding utilization, deliverable schedules, and compliance with contractual obligations.
- support proposal development and additional work requests by coordinating supplier inputs, preparing commercial documentation, and incorporating appropriate contractual terms and conditions.
- promote inuit participation by engaging inuit organizations and businesses in procurement and subcontracting opportunities, where appropriate.
- identify and escalation contractual risks, compliance concerns, and commercial issues to the contracts manager.
- perform additional duties and projects assigned in support of departmental objectives and organizational priorities.
- degree or diploma in business administration, supply chain management, commerce, procurement, contract management, law, or a related discipline.
- equivalent combinations of education and directly related experience may be considered.
- ncma or worldcc commercial and contract management associate (ccma™) designation is considered an asset.
- minimum five (5) years of experience in contract administration, procurement, subcontract administration, commercial management, or a related field.
- demonstrated experience with competitive bid processes and procurement activities.
