Event Host – Part-Time

Overview

We’re looking for a reliable, social, and confident Event Host based in Ottawa to help run in-person social events. This role focuses primarily on guest experience, event execution, and on-site coordination. Occasional arts- or dance-related events may occur, but these are not the primary focus of the role.

You’ll act as the on-site host and point of contact, ensuring events run smoothly and attendees feel welcomed and engaged.

• Event Hosting & Operations:
  Host and manage social events and mixers
• Welcome guests, handle check-in, and maintain a positive atmosphere
• Clearly communicate event flow, rules, and activities to attendees
• Ensure smooth execution from start to finish
• Represent the brand professionally on-site
• Venue & Logistics Support:
  Assist with identifying and communicating with potential venues
• Help with basic setup and teardown when required
• Lift and move light equipment or supplies (up to 10–20 kg)
• Content Support (Light):
  Take basic photos or short videos during events using a smartphone
• Capture moments for social media recaps when requested

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Comfortable speaking with groups and engaging strangers
• Organized, punctual, and dependable
• Able to work independently with minimal supervision
• Comfortable using a smartphone for photos/videos
• Physically able to lift 10–20 kg if needed
• Experience in events, hospitality, customer service, or promotions is an asset
• Interest in arts or dance is a bonus, not a requirement
• Familiarity with Montreal venues or nightlife/social scene is nice to have
• Access to a vehicle is helpful but not required
