Shape the future of sound design at the University of Ottawa by becoming a Part-Time Instructor for the Winter 2027 semester focusing on Sound Design and Soundscaping.
You will lead the Design sonore et paysage sonore (en différé) course, facilitating students' understanding of non-real-time composition and media. With your PhD and experience in music composition, you will curate engaging content that bridges theoretical lessons and practical applications in theatre, dance, visual arts, and experimental video.
Key Responsibilities:
• Deliver lectures on sound design in person each Thursday
• Oversee student projects involving theatre, film, and visual arts
• Provide insights into professional editing applications used in sound
• Guide students through non-real-time composition techniques
• Evaluate and encourage student creativity and effectiveness
Requirements:
• Doctorate in Composition or equivalent credentials
• Proven experience in media curation and music composition
• Knowledge of professional editing tools
• Experience teaching at the university level
• Bilingual communication skills in English and French
