Become a reporter at Nunatsiaq News, specializing in hard news and multimedia content in Nunavut and Ottawa. Produce engaging narratives and impact local communities through your work.
Nunatsiaq News is on the lookout for two reporters who can cover hard news, including features and multimedia content. This role involves filing five stories weekly, developing local sources, and capturing original photos. Expect to travel to Nunavut for event-based reporting to enrich our storytelling.
Key Responsibilities:
• File a minimum of five news stories per week
• Provide two original photographs weekly
• Develop story sources and innovative ideas
• Cover community events in Nunavut through travel
• Support proofreading and editorial tasks assigned by editors
Requirements:
• Journalism degree, diploma, or equivalent
• Excellent writing, reporting, and photography skills
• Proven experience in meeting tight deadlines
• Independent and collaborative mindset
• Valid driver’s license
