As a member of Cabin Radio's Parliamentary Press Gallery, you will produce insightful journalism that connects residents of the Northwest Territories with national news. This permanent role, funded until 2029 by the Metcalf Foundation, allows for occasional training trips to Yellowknife. You will be expected to deliver unique perspectives on significant national issues and Arctic sovereignty while engaging with diverse audiences.

Key Responsibilities:

• Produce in-depth political stories for northern audiences

• Cover Parliament and national Indigenous governments

• Identify and explain issues impacting the Northwest Territories

• Collaborate closely with Cabin Radio's editorial team

• Engage with audiences across various media platforms

Requirements:

• Experience as a political reporter with Ottawa connections

• Strong understanding of national Indigenous politics

• Ability to produce exclusive journalism

• Capability to communicate effectively from Ottawa

• Willingness to relocate and immerse in northern issues
