Tax Manager - Private Tax
The opportunity
As a Tax Manager, you will be part of our Private Tax practice. You will work with private organizations and high‑net‑worth business owners and individuals on domestic and cross‑border tax planning, estate, wealth transfer, asset protection, philanthropic planning, and related areas. The Private Tax practice collaborates closely with transaction tax and international tax teams.

YourKey Responsibilities
As a manager, you will recommend and implement tax strategies that align with clients' objectives, correspond with legal counsel and tax authorities, assist with reorganizations, research compliance and planning issues, and review personal, corporate and trust tax returns.
Skills and Attributes for Success- Identify planning opportunities and prepare correspondence describing income‑tax implications of transactions.
- Research client issues arising from planning or compliance work using online sources.
- Liaise with the client’s legal counsel.
- Review personal, trust and corporate tax returns and related compliance responsibilities.
- Engage with Canada Revenue Agency and provincial ministries on client issues.
- Communicate with audit managers, staff, and/or clients regarding personal, trust or corporate tax queries.
- Prepare tax election forms.
- Assume responsibility for personal and trust tax compliance seasons.
- Undergraduate or graduate degree in accounting or a related field.
- Five or more years of relevant tax experience or equivalent experience.
- Canadian CPA designation.
- Completed CPA In‑Depth Tax courses or equivalent (good to have).
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Teamwork ability.
- Organizational and time‑management skills.
- Be able to thrive in a fast‑paced, professional services environment.
