Consultant, Value and Risk Advisory – JLL
Join JLL's expanding Value and Risk Advisory team in Ottawa as a Consultant, where you'll provide critical real estate valuation insights to Canada's largest Pension Funds, REITs, Asset Managers, and major Institutions. As part of a high-performance team that delivered over $3.6T in asset valuations in 2025, you'll contribute to CUSPAP-conforming appraisal reports across Core 4 asset classes while developing your expertise within a “Best-in-Class” national valuation platform.
This role offers direct exposure to complex assignments, client interaction, and collaboration with professionals across Canada, all while advancing your professional accreditation and contributing to JLL's global perspective on value and risk built from human intelligence and real-time data insights.
- Prepare all aspects of CUSPAP-conforming appraisal reports for Retail, Office, Industrial, and Residential assets across the Canadian market
- Conduct comprehensive research and collect data from internal and external resources to support accurate valuation analysis and market insights
- Build reliable, accurate cash flow projections and valuation models using ARGUS Enterprise and other appropriate market tools and resources
- Assist and participate in market presentations to clients, demonstrating valuation findings and providing expert insights on real estate values
- Collaborate with Value and Risk leaders and professionals across Canada on complex assignments while maintaining client confidentiality and professional standards
- Continuously improve your skillset and market knowledge through participation in conferences, online learning, and professional development activities
- Respond with urgency to stakeholder needs while managing multiple assignments and meeting deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Candidate appraiser license (pursuing or working towards AACI designation)
- Minimum 2+ years full-time professional experience in the commercial real estate sector
- Demonstrated proficiency with MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint) and Adobe Professional
- Strong analytical skills with ability to build financial models and cash flow projections
- Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills with ability to interact professionally with clients
- ACCI designation
- Post-secondary education in Commerce, Economics, Business Administration, Urban Economics, Urban Planning, or Urban Geography
- Proficiency with real estate software such as ARGUS Enterprise
- Knowledge of key themes impacting capital markets and investment real estate
- Excellent time management and organizational skills with ability to adapt, prioritize, and work independently with minimal supervision
