As a Financial Services Representative, you will join a team dedicated to an exceptional Member Experience. Your primary responsibilities include understanding the financial needs of Members and providing appropriate advice and recommendations. This role supports day‑to‑day banking through front‑line transactional services, while also pursuing advisory sales opportunities such as opening new accounts, offering credit or deposit products, identifying wealth referrals, and positioning Meridian’s products and services to add value to Members’ financial well‑being.
Key Responsibilities- Provide an outstanding Member experience and consultative service through active listening and problem‑solving.
- Accurately process and post all transactions, ensuring timely completion and maintaining confidentiality.
- Identify and pursue revenue‑generating activities, including referrals to other Meridian channels.
- Offer investment and credit advice within approval limits and promote suitable solutions to Members.
- Encourage Member use of virtual technologies for meetings and communications.
- Build and maintain strong internal relationships with Wealth, Small Business, and Mobile Mortgage teams.
- Participate in community engagement initiatives and promotional events to support the credit union’s presence.
- Support branch goals by contributing to business plans and achieving individual performance targets.
- Post‑secondary education or equivalent work experience in a financial services selling environment is an asset.
- Strong business acumen, financial industry knowledge, and negotiation skills.
- Ability to adapt, learn quickly, and handle a dynamic work environment, including evenings and weekends.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the capacity to mitigate Member concerns.
- Proficiency with computer systems and virtual collaboration platforms.
- Integrity, customer‑focus, and a proactive attitude toward opportunities.
- Experience in using data and technology to improve Member experience is desirable.
Salary Range
: CAD 47,775 to 62,200 annually.
