About The Opportunity
Our growing client in Ottawa West is looking for a progressive Director of Finance to join their fast‑paced, dynamic organization on a full‑time, permanent basis.

Duties- Oversee Accounting team to ensure accuracy and timely submissions, providing support as needed
- Management of General Ledger and related duties
- Preparation of consolidated monthly, quarterly and annual Financial Statements and financial reporting
- Submission of tax remittances
- Coordination and preparation of budget and financial forecasts, institute and maintain planning and control procedures and analyze report variances
- Risk analysis and ad hoc analysis as needed
- Preparing month and year end closing, ensure transactions are complete, accurate, and properly documented
- Liaising with auditors, taking an active role in internal and external audit, providing required reporting
- Ensuring compliance as well as implementation of policies and procedures, monitoring for accurate and successful execution
- Provide mentorship and development for Accounting team through thoughtful evaluation
- Work closely with internal and external stakeholders and present financial reports
- Provide contributions and recommendations regarding financial aspects of the business, communicating with Senior Management on financial variances and strategies, including developing long‑term growth models
- Participate in other active projects and ad‑hoc reporting as needed
- Active CPA designation in good standing
- 7+ years of recent experience within a similar role for a medium‑to‑large organization; construction industry experience a strong asset
- 3+ years of leadership of an accounting team
- Strong oral, written, and communication skills in English
- Strong problem‑solving skills, critical thinking
- Highly organized, strong attention to detail
- Excellent interpersonal skills, self‑starter, collaborative – able to work with all levels of staff
The salary band for this opportunity is $125,000 to $145,000 depending on relevant previous experience.
