Accounting Specialist

Catholic Christian Outreach is a young and dynamic Catholic movement dedicated to fulfilling the Church’s mission of evangelization on university campuses and beyond. The Finance & Properties Department plays a key role in establishing a strong foundation to support the fulfillment of this mission. The Sr. Accounting Specialist contributes to ensuring our fiscal responsibilities are upheld and aligned to serve the heart of our mission with integrity, professionalism and excellence.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Assist in the coordination and processing of Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable and General Ledger
  • Contribute to the national budget process
  • Assist with the preparation and analysis of regular financial statements
  • As requested, maintain & develop strong internal controls in keeping the Financial Edge database clean
  • Perform period-end procedures, as assigned
  • Strengthen processes, systems and efficiencies, as requested
  • Perform account investigations and reconciliations, as needed
  • Communicate with vendors/clients/employees via phone, email, mail or personally
  • Assist with various payroll functions
DESIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Information Systems, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in finance operations
  • Strong understanding of finance processes, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, budgeting, and reporting.
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Solid understanding of GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles)
  • Proficient in accounting software
  • Advanced Excel skills, including pivot tables, VLOOKUP, and financial modeling.
  • Experience with financial statement preparation.
  • Attention to detail and ability to work under tight deadlines
  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal).
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities .
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Knowledge of compliance requirements related to financial operations
  • CPA (Chartered Professional Accountant) or other equivalent certifications
  • Experience with Blackbaud software solutions (Financial Edge, Raiser's Edge, etc.)
  • Experience in a senior or supervisory role.
  • Advanced knowledge of financial analysis and forecasting.
  • Experience with data analytics and business intelligence tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI).
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills.
  • Proactive, detail-oriented, and adaptable to a fast-changing environment.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to innovate.
  • Communication & Leadership:
    Effective verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to lead, mentor, and collaborate with teams to meet financial goals.
  • Time Management & Ethical Integrity:
    Ability to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, ensure compliance, maintain confidentiality, and drive continuous improvement in processes.

    Full-time Annual Salary between $ 68,113.63 to $72,537.71, depending on experience and qualifications
