Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Financial Advisor role based in Ottawa, ON. The Financial Advisor will meet with clients to understand their financial goals, risk tolerance, and time horizons, and will design customized investment and insurance strategies that support those objectives. Day-to-day responsibilities include conducting financial assessments, preparing and presenting proposals, monitoring portfolio performance, and recommending adjustments as market conditions or client circumstances change.
The role also involves maintaining accurate client records, ensuring compliance with regulatory and firm standards, collaborating with internal specialists, and proactively following up with clients to provide ongoing advice and education. The Financial Advisor is expected to build long-term relationships, contribute to business development activities, and represent CCI Capital’s human-first, disciplined approach to wealth management.
Qualifications
- Strong client advisory skills, including the ability to conduct comprehensive financial needs analyses and explain complex investment and insurance concepts in clear, accessible language.
- Experience in portfolio construction, asset allocation, and risk management, with the ability to align strategies to individual client objectives and market conditions.
- Knowledge of personal financial planning areas such as retirement planning, estate planning fundamentals, tax-efficient investing, and insurance-based wealth protection.
- Solid analytical and quantitative skills, including proficiency with financial planning tools, portfolio management software, and standard office productivity applications.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and relationship-building skills, with a client-centric approach and the ability to work collaboratively with internal team members.
- Proven organizational skills and attention to detail, including the ability to manage multiple client relationships, maintain accurate documentation, and meet regulatory requirements.
- Relevant certifications or progress toward them (e.g., CFP, CFA, or other recognized financial planning or investment designations) are highly beneficial.
- Post-secondary education in finance, economics, business, or a related field, and prior experience in wealth management, financial planning, or advisory services in a regulated environment.
- Ability to work on-site in Ottawa, ON, and meet any licensing requirements applicable to investment and insurance advisory services in the region.
