The Royal Canadian Mint (the Mint) is hiring a Director, Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A) who can thrive in a dynamic and inclusive environment.

Reporting to the Senior Director, Finance and Chief Accountant, this strategic leadership role partners with business leaders across the organization to drive financial performance, support corporate objectives, and deliver actionable insights that enable informed decision-making.

The Director, FP&A leads the corporate planning, budgeting, forecasting, and performance reporting processes while ensuring timely, accurate, and meaningful financial analysis. Leading a team of FP&A professionals, you will strengthen reporting capabilities, enhance financial processes, and implement best practices that support operational excellence and long-term profitability. As a senior leader, you will influence decision-making, build strong partnerships, and help drive the Mint’s strategic priorities.

Responsibilities:
  • Lead the FP&A department (including the Management Reporting team and the Business Partner support team) by providing leadership and oversight for corporate financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis, management reporting, and strategic business analysis.
  • Responsible for setting clear direction, driving accountability, and developing team capability to support planning, forecasting, performance reporting, variance analysis, and executive decision-making.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of the Mint’s Strategic Corporate plan, including developing and reporting on financial and operational KPIs focused on value drivers;
    Responsible for the development and preparation of the Mint’s detailed financial planning models including forecasts, budgets, projections, financial support for business cases and project prioritization used in the annual Corporate Plan, and business line support model.
  • Create and sustain the FP&A function’s value to the organization by delivering of meaningful, decision enabling executive reporting packages that clearly articulate key business drivers, risks, opportunities and recommended action plans.
  • Partner with executives, business partners, project teams, and other key stakeholders to provide data driven analysis, strategic financial advice, business case support, and insights that support profitability, financial targets, and strategic objectives.
  • Support the executive team and key stakeholders with strategic projects, system and process improvements, and ad hoc analysis as required, including enhancements to corporate performance management and decision-support capabilities.
  • Other responsibilities as assigned, including projects and initiatives to ensure FP&A requirements are aligned to environmental changes.

This position offers a hybrid work arrangement, requiring on-site presence at our Ottawa location three to five days per week, depending on meeting requirements and other activities.

Proficiency in both official languages (English / French) is required at the time of hire.

Education & Designation:

  • University degree in related area with a CPA designation and/or MBA

Experience:

  • Minimum of 10 years of progressive related business experience
