Director, Financial Planning and Analysis

Location: Ottawa, ON, hybrid with 3-5 days on-site
Compensation: $145,000-$165,000 annually
Language: Advanced English and French reading and oral communication, with intermediate written proficiency
Background Check Requirement: Background check and eligibility to obtain a security clearance

Our client, a prominent federal Crown corporation operating within a complex manufacturing environment, is seeking a Director, Financial Planning and Analysis
. You will lead corporate planning, budgeting, forecasting, and performance reporting while supporting operational excellence and long-term profitability.

Reporting to a senior Finance leader, you will lead FP&A professionals across management reporting and business-partner support. You will work closely with executives, operational leaders, and project teams to turn financial and manufacturing data into actionable recommendations.

• Youll lead budgeting, forecasting, financial planning, variance analysis, and management reporting.
• Youll develop detailed financial models, projections, business cases, and project-prioritization analyses.
• Youll partner with manufacturing and operational leaders to evaluate production costs, margins, inventory, capital investments, and performance.
• Youll establish financial and operational KPIs connected to key value drivers.
• Youll deliver executive reporting that identifies results, risks, opportunities, and recommended actions.
• Youll strengthen financial systems, reporting processes, and decision-support capabilities.

• 10+ years of progressive FP&A and business analysis experience, including within a complex manufacturing or production environment.
• 10+ years of progressive management experience leading high-performing teams.
• A university degree in a related discipline, combined with a CPA designation and/or MBA.
• Strong knowledge of manufacturing finance, including costing, inventory, margin analysis, operational KPIs, and capital investments.
• Demonstrated experience transforming strategic objectives into practical financial and operational plans.
• Advanced Excel skills and experience with accounting, business intelligence, and reporting systems.
