THE ROLE
As a Mess (Kitchen) Manager, you provide an excellent customer experience in our military messes. You will build rapport with the military community while utilizing your operational and hospitality experience. You will ensure smooth operation of the mess’s activities and operations, including bar operations and food services, while adhering to strict health, hygiene and safety requirements. You will manage the scheduling, training and performance of employees, develop operations budgets, business plans, monitor and report on all expenses, and contribute to a positive workplace culture.
QUALIFICATIONSEducation, Certifications and Licenses
College diploma or certificate in hospitality, food service management, or a related field and several years of experience in the hospitality or food and beverage sector.
Provincial Responsible Service of Alcohol certification, as required
EXPERIENCE- Coordinating hospitality services including bar operations
- Applying policies, procedures, regulations and applicable legislation
- Coordinating banquets and functions
- Managing inventory and bar operations
- Negotiating service contracts
- Preparing marketing strategies
- Managing facilities
- Administering budgets
- Managing a full service kitchen
- Performing personnel administration
- Using software for word processing, spreadsheets, presentations, databases, e‑mail and Internet browsing
