Cashier Overnight - Constant Grind

Job Summary

Hard Rock Ottawa Hotel & Casino – Ottawa, Ontario – Part Time – Permanent – Compensation: CAD $19.33 per hour.

• Manage reservation system to retain guest preferences, pre-assigning seating when necessary.
• Welcome and acknowledge each guest with a smile, eye contact, and a friendly verbal greeting, using the guest’s name when possible.
• Escort guests to tables and assist in seating at tables, present menus and extend pleasantries.
• Offer a cordial farewell to every guest, thanking them for dining and inviting them back.
• Communicate constantly with management and service staff to ensure efficient operations.
• Maintain positive relations with guests at all times.
• Maintain complete knowledge of scheduled daily activities, in‑house groups, daily house count, table/seat/station numbers, proper table set‑ups, room capacity, hours of operation, price range and dress code.
• Answer restaurant telephone courteously and efficiently.
• Speak to guests and co‑workers using clear, appropriate and professional language.
• Anticipate guests’ service needs, including asking questions of guests to better understand their needs and watching/listening to guest preferences and acting on them whenever possible.
• Engage guests in conversation regarding their stay, property services, and area attractions/offerings.
• Move and arrange tables, chairs, and settings and organize seating for groups with special needs with minimal disturbance to other guests.
• Maintain cleanliness of work areas throughout the shift.
• Notify management of maintenance repair issues.
• Perform all other job‑related duties as requested.

• Must be at least 19 years old.
• Ability to bend, reach, stand or move for up to 8+ hours.
• Ability to turn or twist body parts in a circular motion.
• Maintain a well‑groomed appearance and follow uniform guidelines.
• Adhere to general safety and sanitation standards and practice recycling when possible.
• Remain calm in a hectic, fast‑paced atmosphere.
• Demonstrate a high level of organization, attention to detail and a sense of urgency.
• Display a positive and outwardly friendly attitude toward guests and co‑workers.
• Ability to tolerate exposure to heat, cold, chemicals, and loud/noisy environment.

• Stand and sit for extended periods of time.
• Walk distances.
• Frequently lift, push, pull and/or move up to 50 pounds.

• Perform duties in a highly regulated and controlled environment, with occasional exposure to the Casino Floor.
• Exposure to casino‑related environmental factors, including excessive noise.
