About R :
Making waves since 1973

At R , we’ve been designing cutting-edge instruments to measure our blue planet for over 50 years. Built to withstand some of the harshest environments on Earth, our instruments are deployed from the ocean’s deepest trenches to the polar ice caps, capturing essential data on water temperature, salinity, pH, and more. This data empowers researchers in the global fight against climate change, and our technology supports groundbreaking science with partners like Fisheries and Oceans Canada, Woods Hole, the Scripps Institution, and the British Antarctic Survey.

At R , we care deeply about our work, each other, the environment, and the global communities we serve. We value teamwork, continuous improvement, and having fun along the way. From weekly lunches to social events, we’re a crew that thrives on taking on complex and exciting challenges that have a meaningful impact on the blue planet! Ready to make waves with us?

Support leaders on performance reviews, feedback, development plans, and employee relations, supporting business needs and employee success

  • Compensation & programs:
Partner closely with the Head of HR to execute and continuously improve compensation reviews, benchmarking, total rewards offerings, learning & development, and employee programs, ensuring seamless delivery aligned to business goals

  • HRIS & systems:
Play a key role in HRIS implementation, maintenance, and optimization - including data integrity, training, and automation to streamline operations, while keeping an eye out for other systems/tools that could free up time for higher-value work

Support work permits, visa applications, LMIA processes where applicable, and permanent residency pathways, partnering with employees, managers, and external counsel for compliance and smooth execution

  • Day-to-day operations:
Handle general HR (policies, procedures, compliance, employee records), team and employee support

  • Continuous improvement & scaling:
Identify inefficiencies, optimize processes, implement automation, draft SOPs, and build scalable systems as R  grows - making HR more effective and proactive
