Your Opportunity

BDO Canada is seeking a Workday Product Manager, HR to provide strategic ownership and hands-on leadership for our Workday HR platform. This role is for an existing vacancy and is responsible for shaping the direction, governance, and optimization of Workday HR while ensuring stable and effective day-to-day operations.

You will partner closely with HR leaders, influence how technology enables people programs, and lead continuous improvement across the HR Workday ecosystem.

To be successful, you will focus on key areas such as:

Product ownership and strategy

  • Own the vision, roadmap, and priorities for Workday HR products.

  • Translate firm and HR strategy into scalable Workday solutions.

  • Proactively identify opportunities to improve HR processes through system optimization.

  • Lead release planning, change impact assessment, and ongoing platform evolution.

  • HR partnership and advisory

  • Act as a trusted advisor to HR leaders across the HR organization.

  • Provide clear recommendations on best practices, trade-offs, and Workday capabilities.

  • Guide leaders using data, insights, and system expertise to support decision-making.

  • Operational delivery

  • Provide hands-on configuration, troubleshooting, and production support as required.

  • Oversee daily support operations with one senior specialist, setting priorities and standards.

  • Resolve escalated issues and manage complex or cross-module changes.

  • Module oversight

  • Demonstrated expertise in at least three of the following modules:

    HCM

    Talent & Performance

    Recruiting

    Advanced Compensation

    Time & Absence

    Learning

  • Comfortable governing and supporting all HR modules.

  • Governance and continuous improvement

  • Establish standards for configuration, security, and data quality.

  • Own intake, prioritization, and backlog management.

  • Monitor trends, feedback, and usage to drive measurable improvements.

  • People leadership

  • Lead and develop a senior Workday HR specialist.

  • Set clear expectations, priorities, and development goals.

  • Your Experience and

    Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, IT, or related field.

  • Previous experience managing people.

  • Prior HR background with strong understanding of HR operations and processes.

  • Proven hands-on Workday HR experience across multiple modules (HCM, Recruitment, Onboarding, Talent Management, Compensation, Time-Tracking).

  • Experience partnering with senior HR leaders and influencing outcomes.

  • Ability to work independently in a lean support model.

  • Strong judgment, prioritization, and decision-making skills.

  • Relevant Workday certifications.

  • The expected range of compensation for this role is $93,000 - $141,000 annually.
