Job Description
We are seeking a Senior HR & Labour Relations Partner to join our growing HR team. This is an exceptional opportunity for a Labour Relations professional to join a highly-talented engineering and manufacturing business. Collaborating with intelligent and supportive leaders, you will provide expert advice that contributes to our mission of achieving a more secure world through innovation.
Responsibilities
Provide expert Labour and Employee Relations guidance and support to our HR team and leaders, tailoring best practices to the needs of our growing businessAs a member of our HR Business Partner team, provide advice on:
Performance management
Collective agreement interpretation
Labour and employee relations principles and legislationCollaborate with our Total Rewards team to develop compensation strategies for our unionized employeesPartner with our Talent Acquisition team by ensuring our recruitment processes align with collective agreement requirementsConnect and build relationships with leaders, union representatives, and employees to proactively resolve conflictsDevelop and deliver presentations to senior leaders on Labour and Employee Relations strategies, enhancing understanding and advocacyLead collective bargaining with our manufacturing and professional unions, conducting research, developing bargaining strategies, and applying interest-based techniquesDevelop and lead training on Labour and Employee Relations, equipping leaders with essential knowledge and skillsLead grievance resolution and workplace investigations as required to inform strategic HR initiativesCollect metrics, perform data analysis, and make recommendationsAct as a key contributor to various strategic HR initiatives, directly impacting organizational effectivenessQualifications
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Business Administration/Commerce with coursework in Industrial Relations or equivalentSignificant experience working in a unionized environmentProven ability in conflict resolution, with a track record of engaging with leaders and union representatives to proactively resolve challengesExperience in interpreting and drafting collective agreement language, bargaining proposals, and settlement agreementsExperience in preparing collective bargaining strategies and active participation in collective bargainingKnowledge, Skills & Abilities
Highly knowledgeable in Ontario labour and employment lawKnowledge of variety of HR disciplines including Performance Management, Total Rewards, and Talent AcquisitionEnthusiastic contributor with strong initiativeExcellent business acumenPreferred Qualifications
Post-graduate education in labour relations ( MIRHR, MIR)Certified Human Resources Leader (CHRL) designationExperience leading collective bargainingKnowledge of Alberta, Nova Scotia, and/or Quebec labour and employment lawIt is a requirement that General Dynamics Mission Systems-Canada be registered with the Canadian Controlled Goods program and that all of its workforce be security assessed. Successful applicants must meet all applicable security requirements, including but not limited to the ability to obtain and maintain a Canadian government security clearance. Applicants may be required to meet additional security requirements in order to gain access to technical data, classified areas or information that is subject to international regulations.

The hiring range for this position is $93,600 to $117,000 CAD.
