Compensation Details:

  • HR Generalist 15:
    Salaries typically range from $65,172 to $86,898 annually, based on qualifications and experiences.

Location:

  • Export Development Canada operates in a hybrid work environment, currently requiring employees to work in the office 2 days per week (subject to change).

  • This role will be performed from EDC’s headquarters in Ottawa.

Team Overview

Our Employee Care Centre is currently looking for a reliable team player, with a client service focus, to provide HR support to EDC employees. The successful candidate will be well organized, able to manage competing priorities, and work effectively both independently and with support as needed.

The Associate HR Advisor role involves dealing with HR inquiries, performing HR operational tasks and problem solving. Strong interpersonal skills and great attention to detail will be essential for this position.

What you will be doing:
  • Provide interpretation, guidance, and advice on HR-related policies, programs, and complex processes, referring to others for interpretation when necessary.

  • Investigate and respond to standard and non-standard HR-related inquiries, consulting with subject matter experts for more complex issues.

  • Respond to employee enquiries using an intake management system and provide support related to HR functional areas, such as leave, benefits and probation administration, performance management, and the Employee Care SharePoint site.

  • Participate in student onboarding and training.

  • Coordinate the retiree death process with families and service providers, and ensure seamless program administration for long-service awards and EDC family scholarships in collaboration with other departments and external vendors.

  • Collaborate with stakeholders and build effective working relationships within and outside HR to deliver high-quality professional services, ensuring consistency and compliance with company policies and procedures, with guidance from senior colleagues.
