Regulatory Compliance Specialist
Leverage Tek is actively seeking a HR Consultant for a 6-month contract with its Ottawa-based customer.
Work LocationThe successful candidate will be required to work 3x/week on-site at the customer headquarters in GTA or Ottawa, ON.
Key Tasks- Oversee and drive core HR processes across the employee life cycle, with a strong focus on onboarding during high-volume hiring.
- Mentor and support one junior and one intermediate HR team member, helping them develop and deliver on their responsibilities.
- Collaborate with HR Business Partners to ensure seamless HR operations.
- Interact with employees to facilitate HR processes and resolve HR-related queries.
- Focus on operational execution and process improvement.
- Quickly identify priorities and ensure timely completion of critical HR tasks.
- Extensive HR Operations Experience – Deep, hands‑on experience managing HR processes like onboarding/offboarding, employee lifecycle administration, benefits, HR systems, and data management, especially in complex or high‑growth organizations.
- Strong Prioritization, Judgment, and Execution Skills – Ability to handle ambiguity, identify urgent needs without constant guidance, manage a high workload, and deliver results efficiently.
- Mentorship and Team Leadership – Experience guiding and supporting junior HR staff, providing direction without becoming a bottleneck, and reducing dependency on senior leadership for day‑to‑day decisions.
- Previous experience supporting high‑volume hiring initiatives.
- Exposure to operational process improvement projects.
- Familiarity with HR best practices and employment legislation in Canada.
- Proven experience as an HR consultant or interim HR generalist.
- Strong prioritization, organizational, and mentoring skills.
- Ability to integrate quickly and deliver results with minimal onboarding.
- Collaborative, adaptable, and comfortable working in a dynamic environment.
- Proficient with HRIS and HR technology.
- Experience in high‑growth or change environments.
Hourly Rate Negotiable
