Join the Total Rewards team in the Junior Officer, Payroll and Pension position. In this role, you will ensure that all employee and pensioner salary payments, benefits and compensation-related initiatives are accurately administered in compliance with federal and provincial legislation and HR Management Guidelines and Procedures. You will provide support, guidance and dissemination of related HR policy and guidelines to the HR community and external service providers.
What you’ll do:
Support external providers who are administering outsourced Pension, Payroll, and Benefit operational services to clients (pensioners, employees, HR community and various internal and external clients such as financial advisors, lawyers, solicitors, executors).Review CMHC's Payroll and edit verification function on a bi-weekly cycle, ensuring accuracy of all earning and deduction activities for both employees and pensioners.Contribute to the development and implementation of payroll data quality rules and standards,Actively contribute to user acceptance testing, ensure data is properly tested and validated internally and externally, to address any potential issues, upgrades or legislative changes.Help review and implement remediation plans for payroll data quality issues.Maintain current knowledge of amendments to rules and regulations for Revenue Canada, Revenu Québec, Canada Pension Plan / Quebec Pension Plan, Employment and Immigration (EI), hospital and group insurance rate changes, Granville Island collective agreement, and internal changes and/or initiatives in order to process manual calculations of a variety of payments.Main point of contact for HR and payroll information to the vendor.What you should have:
A post-secondary education in payroll administration, pension administration, business administration or human resources.A minimum of one year of relevant work experience in payroll or/and pension administration.Knowledge and understanding of pension policy/administration and payroll policy/administration, knowledge of documentation for audit and corporate records requirements, and knowledge of employment law and regulations, legislative issues and industry trends relating to human resources, pay and pension.Ability to work in an automated environment (use of Dayforce, AON Pension Administration software, Lotus Notes, HR Information Systems).
