Our well-established client is looking for an HR & Payroll Administrator to join their dynamic team, where they know how to have fun while still getting the work done! Roll up your sleeves and take ownership of the payroll processing for their multi-union environment, while also providing administrative support for the HR department.

The ideal candidate is a team player and quick learner who is highly organized, deadline-driven, and attentive to details. Reporting to the Manager of HR, the main responsibilities include:

  • Process weekly payroll for union and non-union employees while adhering to company policies and collective agreements
  • Complete weekly and monthly tax and union remittances and reporting, consistently meeting strict deadlines
  • Coordinate onboarding and offboarding for employees, including systems set‑up and benefits enrollment
  • Respond to employee questions and complete tracking for vacation, benefits, accommodations, employee training/certifications, and other compliance requirements
  • Organize and maintain accurate digital and physical employee records
  • Assist with recruitment efforts, including posting jobs, screening resumes, scheduling interviews, reference checking, and offer letter preparation
  • Work closely with managers, site supervisors and union representatives to ensure needs are met and recommend process improvements when appropriate

Qualifications

The main qualifications for this role include:

  • Minimum of 3 years of payroll experience
  • Post-secondary Human Resources education or equivalent experience, 1‑3 years’ experience ideally
  • Payroll designation (PCP) is considered a strong asset
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills, including Word, Outlook and Excel
