Bilingual Payroll Administrator - Contract - 19134
Our nationally recognized client in the downtown Ottawa area is looking for a Payroll Administrator to join their organization on a contract basis. This organization values a strong, positive company culture and offers competitive compensation paired with a hybrid work model.
Duties include but are not limited to:- Perform time and attendance processing, interface with payroll system
- Ensure accurate and timely bi-weekly timesheet processing while maximizing efficiencies, maintaining operational standards and adhering to department policies and procedures
- Process CRA Source Deductions, Union Deductions
- Process EHT/WSIB/WCB remittances, etc.
- Input changes to employee payroll records maintained in the payroll system
- Process new hire records and termination records
- Administer Records of Employment
- Administer Benefits plan enrollment
- Answer staff inquiries related to HR and Payroll in a professional, timely manner
- Keep up to date with payroll best practices and legislative changes
- Conduct other Payroll, HR and Administrative duties as needed
- Experience with Ceridian software
- 2+ years of experience in a similar role
- Strong communication skills in both official languages (English, French)
- Experience with Union payroll is a strong asset
- PCP designation, active or in pursuit, would be a strong asset
- Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to prioritize
- Strong problem‑solving skills
- Excellent interpersonal skills, self‑starter, collaborative
- Understanding and application of confidentiality
The hourly wage for this opportunity is $29.00 to $32.00 based on relevant previous experience.
