About The Opportunity
LRO Staffing is partnering with a leading organization to recruit an HR Advisor specializing in disability, leave, and employee experience. This is a term, hybrid role for approximately 14‑15 months, primarily remote within the Ottawa region, with occasional on‑site presence 1‑2 days per week. The role provides hands‑on HR support to leaders and employees, managing leave administration, accommodations, onboarding, and employee experience programs.
This opportunity is ideal for an experienced HR professional looking to deepen expertise in leave management, HR compliance, and employee experience within a dynamic, multi‑jurisdictional environment.
- Manage employee leave administration, including disability (short‑and‑long‑term), parental, and unpaid leaves
- Provide guidance to leaders and employees throughout the leave process, including complex and sensitive cases
- Prepare accommodation and return‑to‑work plans in consultation with employees, leaders, and third‑party providers
- Administer leave‑related approvals and transactions within Workday
- Lead onboarding and orientation programs for new hires, ensuring compliance and engagement
- Track and analyze HR data, including stay surveys and HR metrics, to identify trends and inform program improvements
- Maintain HR guidelines, policies, and legislative compliance across multiple jurisdictions
- Coordinate accessibility planning and reporting, including AODA compliance
- Deliver HR compliance and workplace health & safety training
- Support Workday administration and provide backup support to the broader HR team
- Analyze HR data and metrics to inform strategic decision‑making and reporting
- Minimum 5 years of progressive HR experience, with a focus on leave management and employee experience
- Bachelor’s degree in HR Management, Business, or a related field
- CHRP or CHRL designation preferred
- Minimum 2 years managing complex disability claims and accommodation cases
- Strong knowledge of multi‑jurisdictional employment legislation (ESA, Human Rights Code, Health & Safety)
- Experience developing HR programs, policies, and procedures and implementing them across an organization
- Proficiency in HRIS systems (Workday preferred) and HR data analysis
- Strong client focus, interpersonal skills, and ability to work with tact, empathy, and professionalism
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Highly organized, proactive, and capable of managing multiple priorities independently
- Discretion, confidentiality, and sound judgment

Hybrid, primarily remote; optional office presence in Ottawa, ON - Duration:
Approximately 14–15 months - Hours:
Flexible within normal business hours, 35 hours/week - Salary: $85,500 to $99,400
