Bayshore Health Care is a leading provider of home and community health care services across Canada. The Human Resources Manager – Home Care branch will lead all HR functions, support branch leadership, and enhance employee experience.
Responsibilities- Administer the hiring and selection of field employees in compliance with Bayshore recruitment policies, including interview scheduling, candidate assessments, reference checks, police clearances, electronic onboarding, and information sessions.
- Recruit, screen and hire administrative and supervisory employees as requested by the Area Director.
- Deliver HR orientation items such as H&S, payroll process and prepare photo identification cards.
- Maintain electronic employee files, ensuring required documentation (registration, education, security, references, etc.) is current.
- Conduct probationary and annual performance reviews, including coaching notes and disciplinary records.
- Coordinate employee engagement activities for branch and field employees.
- Manage the benefits program, including level, arrears, and LOA reports and change forms.
- Lead the branch health and safety committee.
- Ensure full‑time and part‑time employees meet required working hours.
- Provide employment letters upon request.
- Handle payroll and benefits inquiries and assist employees in completing forms.
- Process external reference check requests and refer difficult situations to the Area Director or supervisor.
- Manage Workers Compensation claim documentation, file reports, and develop modified work programs.
- Maintain knowledge of provincial legislation related to Employment Standards, Human Rights, Workplace Health and Safety, and Labour laws; investigate violations.
- Assist with employee discipline and counseling.
- Participate in ongoing internal and external continuing education activities.
- Support the Area Director with office operations.
- Supervise branch Human Resources employees and other administrative personnel, as designated.
- Perform other tasks as required.
- Minimum education:
recognized Human Resources Diploma or Degree program (Working toward a CHRP designation is an asset). - 3–5 years progressive HR experience with emphasis on full-cycle recruitment, performance management, and WSIB claims management.
- Exceptional interpersonal and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team while meeting deadlines.
- Intermediate level computer skills (MS Office, HRIS, ATS).
- Proficient use of standard office equipment.
- Valid driver licence and reliable vehicle for branch coverage.
- Fluency in written and spoken English is required;
French fluency required for Quebec locations. - Ability to provide proof of vaccination against COVID-19, Hepatitis, seasonal flu, etc., as per provincial regulations.
