Robert Half Management Resources is searching for an Employee Relations Manager to support a busy organization in Ottawa, Ontario through a Long-term Contract opportunity. This role is suited to someone who is detail oriented and can confidently navigate complex employee matters, build productive relationships in a unionized setting, and provide practical guidance in a fast-moving workplace. The successful candidate will help strengthen workplace practices, support HR administration, and contribute to consistent policy application and staff training.
Responsibilities:
• Provide day-to-day guidance on employee relations matters, including workplace concerns, conflict resolution, and policy interpretation.
• Partner with leaders and HR teams to address issues in a unionized environment while promoting fair and consistent employee practices.
• Review, investigate, and document employee matters thoroughly, ensuring appropriate follow-up and sound recommendations.
• Support the administration of HR programs and processes, maintaining accurate records and helping to improve operational efficiency.
• Deliver training and coaching to managers and employees on workplace policies, employee relations practices, and respectful conduct expectations.
• Use HR systems and related tools, including ADP Workforce Now and other administrative platforms, to manage information and support reporting needs.
• Handle multiple priorities at once in a high-volume environment while maintaining strong attention to detail and responsiveness.
• Contribute to quality-focused HR practices by monitoring consistency, identifying risks, and recommending process improvements where needed.
