This role offers the chance to shape employee experiences and enhance organizational effectiveness.
As an essential part of the HR department, the Generalist will assist the Director of HR with recruitment, onboarding, and employee relations. You will manage performance reviews, ensure compliance with training regulations, and oversee payroll processes. Your expertise will support the AFN's mission to uphold First Nations' rights.
Key Responsibilities:
• Manage full-cycle recruitment including interviews and offers
• Advise staff on HR policies and conflict resolution
• Coordinate onboarding and conduct orientation sessions
• Track training compliance and support career development
• Handle payroll administration and employee records accuracy
Requirements:
• Post-secondary education in Human Resources or related field
• 5 years of HR experience, preferably in non-profit sector
• Solid knowledge of Canadian labor laws
• Proficiency with HRIS systems and MS Office
• Bilingualism in English and French is an asset
