Director of Human Resources at CBA

Lead HR initiatives at the Canadian Bar Association (CBA) as the Director of Human Resources, based in Ottawa. This hybrid role focuses on strategic HR management to support 70 employees across various HR functions and labor relations.

As the Director, you will partner closely with the CEO and senior leadership to enhance organizational development and retention strategies. You will supervise a team of HR professionals as well as manage labor relations in a unionized environment.

Your role will be pivotal in implementing performance management systems, assessing HR capabilities, and driving technology adoption for efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee strategic HR operations aligning with organizational goals

• Manage a small HR team and facilitate development initiatives

• Design and implement effective performance management processes

• Ensure compliance with employment legislation and union relations

• Lead data analysis for improving HR processes and strategies

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or related field

• Minimum 10 years of progressive HR experience

• 3-4 years managing HR teams and processes

• Experience in a unionized environment

• Bilingual skills in English and French required
