Summary

We are seeking a Privacy Specialist with a legal background to work for one of our clients within the public sector. The ideal candidate will have experience working with companies that have a substantial data footprint and will be adept at both legal and operational tasks within a privacy office environment.

• Develop and update privacy policies to ensure compliance with relevant regulations and industry standards.
• Conduct Privacy Impact Assessments (PIAs) to evaluate and mitigate data-related risks.
• Review and negotiate contracts with a focus on privacy and data protection clauses.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement privacy initiatives and ensure ongoing compliance.

Education/Work Experience

• Law degree a must
• Legal background with experience in privacy and data protection.
• Previous 3-5 years experience in a privacy office handling both legal and operational responsibilities.
• Privacy operations experience with companies who have a multi-jurisdictional and mostly employee and investor related personal information risk profile / footprint.
• Experience with laws like GDPR, Privacy Act, US CCPA, Hong Kong Privacy Ordinance is desired.

Technical Skills

• Familiarity with data security technologies and practices.
