Personal Injury Law Clerk / Senior Paralegal

Location: Downtown Ottawa (On-Site)

Salary: $60,000 – $75,000 (Based on Experience)

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Personal Injury Law Clerk or Paralegal to join a busy litigation practice in downtown Ottawa. This role requires a highly organized professional with strong knowledge of civil litigation procedures who can manage files from initiation through to resolution while supporting counsel with all aspects of the litigation process.

Key Responsibilities
  • Draft, prepare, and manage litigation documentation, including Statements of Claim, Defences, Pleadings, Motion Records, Affidavits, Notices, and other court materials for matters before the Superior Court of Justice, Claims Court, and Court of Appeal
  • Coordinate and schedule mediations, discoveries, motions, pre-trials, and trial dates
  • Manage court filings through the Online Submissions Portal and Case Lines
  • Ensure compliance with court rules, deadlines, and service requirements
  • Maintain organized and up-to-date physical and electronic file systems
  • Manage calendars, deadlines, docketing, and file progression
  • Coordinate client communications and meetings
  • Assist with administrative and accounting-related tasks, including file opening and closing
  • Provide additional administrative and litigation support as required
Qualifications & Experience
  • Minimum 4+ years of experience in Personal Injury litigation
  • Strong working knowledge of Ontario’s Rules of Civil Procedure
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook), Adobe Acrobat Pro, and PCLaw
  • Highly organized with exceptional attention to detail
  • Strong ability to prioritize, multitask, and meet deadlines
  • Capable of working both independently and collaboratively
  • Professional, reliable, and able to exercise sound judgment under pressure
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality and discretion
Compensation & Benefits
