After successfully placing several roles, Connect VIP is seeking additional experienced lawyers to join our client's growing legal services team. This is a unique opportunity to provide legal advice, risk management services, legal assistance, and professional support to a large body of eligible professionals and organizations across all Canadian provinces and territories.
Scope of PositionAs a lawyer, you will be primarily responsible for providing legal advice and assistance to eligible professionals and entities across Canada. You will also handle the strategic management of civil litigation, regulatory, commercial, and other legal proceedings, either personally or in collaboration with external counsel.
Key Responsibilities- Provision of legal information, advice, and support in connection with issues arising from professional or business practices.
- Review and analysis of legal documents, contracts, and agreements.
- Provision of advice and legal representation in litigation, regulatory proceedings, and other legal matters.
- Strategic management of the conduct of litigation and legal proceedings across Canadian jurisdictions.
- Documentation of legal services in accordance with applicable standards and employer policies.
- Research and provision of legal opinions on corporate, commercial, and regulatory issues.
- Drafting of articles, guidelines, or publications on relevant legal topics.
- Representing the organization on external committees, working groups, or stakeholder forums.
- Supporting risk management initiatives and policy development.
- Law degree from a Canadian university.
- License to practice common law in a Canadian province or territory.
- Minimum 3 years called to the bar.
- Ability to travel within Canada as required.
- Ability and willingness to relocate to Ottawa.

- Litigation or regulatory experience.
- Experience in corporate/commercial law, contracts, or professional liability matters.
- Bilingualism (English/French) is an asset.
