Operations Director, Buildings - Permanent - 3141

Parker Huggett is partnering with a growing construction organization to recruit an Operations Director - Buildings to lead and scale its Ottawa operations. This is a senior leadership role for a construction professional who excels at building teams, systems, and consistent project outcomes.

Reporting to the General Manager, you will take ownership of people, performance, and project execution across a portfolio of complex building projects.

• People & Culture: Recruit, develop, and mentor a high-performing operations team while fostering a safety-first, accountable, and collaborative culture
• Operations & Systems: Establish and continuously improve workflows for procurement, scheduling, safety, and reporting to support scalable growth
• Project Oversight: Provide senior oversight across active job sites, monitoring schedules, budgets, quality, change management, and HSSE, with regular site presence
• Commercial & Financial Performance: Oversee job costing, forecasting, P&L, cash flow, contracts, claims, and risk management in partnership with the GM
• Partners & Growth: Build strong relationships with designers, subcontractors, and suppliers; support procurement, bids, and future work planning

The successful candidate will have the following:

• 15+ years in construction, including 10+ years in senior leadership roles
• Strong understanding of construction methods, scheduling, and delivery models (CM, Design-Build, IPD)
• Expertise in job costing, forecasting, and financial reporting
• A decisive, collaborative leader with excellent communication skills and a strong HSSE mindset
