What will you be doing!
  • Managing core facilities service contracts, including custodial services, cafeteria operations, catering services, and potable drinking water.
  • Maintaining a visible field presence to support contractors, providing oversight, and promoting a strong safety culture.
  • Conducting periodic audits of contractor activities and deliverables to ensure contractual and compliance requirements are met.
  • Verifying monthly contractor invoices and supporting the tracking and maintenance of annual budgets.
  • Monitoring contractor performance against contractual Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and reporting on performance trends.
  • Promoting a safe and compliant workplace by identifying hazards, addressing risks, and supporting corrective actions.
  • Ensuring contractors adhere to CNL policies, procedures, and compliance expectations through regular communication and oversight.
  • Acting as the CNL Contract Representative (CCR) during contract execution by providing contract guidance and oversight.
  • Developing, reviewing, and managing scopes of work to support procurement and contract execution.
  • Supporting contractor onboarding, offboarding, and reboarding activities, including performance reporting.
  • Participating in contractor management and safety forums to share best practices and supporting continuous improvement.
  • Working closely with Procurement to support contract administration and performance evaluations.
  • Managing and maintaining the Chalk River Laboratories- traffic database to ensure accurate reporting and operational information.
  • Other duties as assigned by your manager.
What we are looking for:
  • Education
    • A university degree or college diploma from an accredited institution.
    • Preference will be given to candidates with education in Business Administration, Contract or Project Management, or Facility Management.
  • Experience
    • Five (5) to seven (7) years of relevant experience in contract management, project management, business administration, or facility management.
    • Experience working within a large, complex, and multi‑faceted organization.
  • Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
    • Strong knowledge of procurement, financial, and evaluation processes.
    • Demonstrated ability in planning, scheduling, financial management, analysis, and reporting.
    • Proven experience establishing, tracking, and reporting on KPIs.
    • Ability to manage competing priorities and perform effectively under pressure.
    • Strong problem‑solving skills with sound judgment and a results‑oriented mindset.
    • Demonstrated leadership capability and confidence working with cross‑functional teams.
    • Ability to lead meetings, drive issue resolution, and motivate stakeholders.
    • Highly self‑motivated with a positive attitude and willingness to learn.
    • Exceptional organizational, written, and verbal communication skills.
    • Ability to independently manage improvement initiatives and special projects with limited oversight.
    • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint, and Visio.
    • Ability to learn and use CNL systems such as ATOM, Oracle, and other internal applications.
    • Knowledge of CNL facilities, compliance programs, and operational environments is an asset.
    • A valid driver’s license is required.
  • Security Clearance Eligibility Required
    • Reliability Status with Site Access Security Clearance (SASC), which has a minimum requirement of 3-5 years of verifiable history in Canada, Australia, New Zealand, the United States and/or the United Kingdom. CNL implements security screening in accordance with the Treasury Board of Canada Secretariat's “Standard on Security Screening” and the “Policy on Government Security.”
