Reporting to the General Manager, the Superintendent based in Ottawa will be responsible to ensure that projects are completed on schedule in compliance with the contracts and the job cost estimates and all the work is completed safely to acceptable standards of quality and workmanship. The Superintendent will also responsible for the management of day to day operations in the yard.
What You'll Do Here:
Lead the overall planning and scheduling of projects to ensure delivery is on time, within budget, and in alignment with contractual requirementsMonitor project progress against schedules and budgets, implementing corrective actions as required to mitigate risks and delaysCoordinate and oversee all project functions, including administration, scheduling, and construction executionServe as the primary on‑site representative for the Company, maintaining effective relationships with owners and key stakeholdersEnsure owners are informed of all extra work, change events, and claims, and that subcontractors are notified of applicable back chargesMaintain accurate and up‑to‑date contract documentation, including change orders and amendmentsImplement, enforce, and monitor compliance with the Company’s Health, Safety, Environmental, and Quality Control programsEnsure all site activities comply with applicable legislation, regulations, and municipal requirementsProvide strong leadership to project staff by directing daily activities, maintaining discipline, and fostering a positive team environmentEnsure adherence to company policies, procedures, and project‑specific requirementsEnsure compliance with union agreements, where applicableReview and approve project cost reports, ensuring job cost forecasts and projected margins are accurate and currentSupport the bid and estimating process, providing constructability input and operational insightPerform additional duties and responsibilities as requiredWhat You Bring to the Team:
Technical school background and at least five years of construction experienceExperience in the Utility Contracting IndustryWorking computer proficiency with MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)Strong interpersonal and communication skillsSound knowledge of construction techniques, practices, and fundamentalsExperience with contract and subcontract managementAbility to build and maintain effective relationships and work within a team environmentStrong organizational and time managementMaintain valid Ontario (G) driver’s licenseAbility to travel within Ontario as requiredReason for vacancy:

Salary:
The expected salary for this position is $95,000 -$145,000.
Individual pay is determined based on several factors, including work location, education, experience, unique skills and job conditions. Other considerations may include certifications, specialized training, and the complexity or scope of the role.
