General Accountabilities
  • Supervise and be responsible for planning and scheduling work and providing advice and guidance throughout the province to staff engaged in outage plans and work program information into LOB schedules.
  • Plan and organize work group activity.
  • Schedule and assign work to staff with instructions, direct them on their problem areas and review and evaluate their performance.
  • Develop and implement work procedures and systems required.
  • Make effective recommendations on human resource matters including interviewing and selection of candidates and handle routine human resource problems.
  • Establish performance measures and perform reviews.
  • Provide clear expectations and meaningful feedback.
  • Provide guidance, assistance, and support to staff in the resolution of personnel problems and establish and maintain a healthy and safe work environment.
  • Provide planning and scheduling services to the Superintendent, and Field Managers.
  • Receive all work through defined SAP processes.
  • Schedule and distribute work to the appropriate Field Managers.
  • Work closely with Operating Planning for preparation of outage plans up to 12 months out.
  • Prepare project schedules and associated work program production schedules for each work group.
  • Coordinate overall work program for specified unit/zone.
  • Process notifications and collaborate with technical staff and others in
    establishing a work schedule.
  • Identify scheduling problems and inform Supervisor of highly unusual or
    very important matters such as non-compliance issues and contract
    cancellations.
  • Prioritize all scheduled work within the unit/zone and develop schedule
    based on these priorities.
  • Seek agreement from clients and customers to adjust schedules if required, in order to complete high priority work.
  • Utilize computerized project management systems to develop work
    program schedules and analyze data.
  • Detail projects into manageable tasks for field completion.
  • Follow up on planned activities, create orders, coordinate and monitor field work accomplishment reporting.
  • Represent the Supervisor at project and planning/scheduling meetings.
  • Act as a contact/coordinator for work programs and projects.
  • Specify, ensure ordered and follow up on material for corrective and
    program jobs.
  • Monitor ongoing workload, skill capabilities required and time requirements for completion of work and ensure appropriate resources are allocated to complete work as scheduled.
  • Interface with Field Managers, Planning and Scheduling Technicians, groups who require scheduling services and any other customers that service is provided for such as OPGI, material suppliers or specialized transportation and work equipment (TWE) contractors.
  • Arrange for additional resources as required through discussions with
    Program & Workforce Management and other Lines Coordinators.
  • Communicate potential "short falls" to Supervisor.
  • Interface with Program and Project Managers as required for schedule
    completion and financial tracking.
  • Perform other duties as required.
Selection Criteria
  • Knowledge is considered to be normally acquired either through the
    successful completion of Grade 12 education, plus up to 3 years additional concentrated study in a related program.
  • Requires an extensive knowledge of trades/technical/operating
    management within the electrical distribution and/or transmission setting.
