About the Opportunity

Welch LLP is seeking a Manager. This role is perfect for someone with a desire to grow and is looking to gain diverse experience. You ll take on key responsibilities in assurance, accounting, tax, and advisory services, collaborating closely with senior managers and partners. You ll have the chance to lead a team in a fast-paced, supportive environment while managing a variety of client accounts, and expanding your expertise in a dynamic sector.

This opportunity is part of our specialized Tech Team, which works closely with high-growth companies in the technology sector and entities with complex reporting requirements under ASPE, IFRS and US GAAP—including startups, scale-ups, venture/PE-backed businesses and small cap Canadian public companies. You’ll gain exposure to innovative clients navigating rapid expansion, complex funding structures, and evolving regulatory landscapes.

This opportunity will be based out of our Ottawa office, with the expectation of in office work minimum 3 days per week.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Manage the accounting, assurance and tax service needs of a portfolio of private and public clients
  • Manage the engagement process from initial scheduling and planning through to client review and financial statement sign off
  • Meet with clients regarding financial statements, other business matters and engagement issues
  • Support personal and corporate tax filings
  • Discuss proposed time budgets with partners and assign engagement budgets to staff
  • Identify new business opportunities with new and existing clients
  • Manage and mentor a team of Accountants
  • Ensuring reporting deadlines are monitored and reported against on a regular basis
  • Work directly with high-growth tech clients, providing strategic insights and scalable financial solutions

Qualifications
  • Completion of a University Degree is required
  • CPA, CA or equivalent designation obtained or near completion preferred
