Director of Research Contracts and Agreements

Facilitate research success at the University of Ottawa as the Director of Research Contracts and Agreements. This full-time, onsite position emphasizes strategic planning and stakeholder collaboration.

As the Director, you will report to the Associate Vice-President, Research Services.

Your role involves managing the contractual aspects of the university’s research efforts, engaging with faculty and external sponsors. You will ensure that the university achieves optimal terms in research agreements and mentoring team performance.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage comprehensive research contract operations

• Train staff on contract management best practices

• Lead negotiations on high-value, multi-party agreements

• Ensure compliance with institutional and regulatory policies

• Support strategic research initiatives across campus

Requirements:

• Advanced degree in a relevant field or experience

• 10+ years in research administration

• Proven ability to negotiate complex agreements

• Extensive knowledge of compliance regulations

• Strong interpersonal and leadership abilities
