The Role

Imagine the excitement and ability to show off your incredible skills in a deployed environment (overseas) for six months evaluating and managing the operations and delivery of morale and welfare programs to the Canadian Armed Forces (CAF) and partner nations. As a deployed Welfare Services Manager, you are enhancing the overall morale and welfare of all the troops deployed.

The Welfare Services Manager is part of an enthusiastic team of adventurous individuals who enjoy meaningful employment and contributing in a team‑based, land‑based environment. Excited by the opportunity to deploy as a civilian among our CAF personnel abroad, you are a team player in a fast‑paced setting. You are able to adapt to new challenges in an ever‑changing dynamic environment.

You will have the opportunity to plan, coordinate, and manage a variety of business lines, such as retail, fitness, recreation, sports, travel, and barbering. You will utilize previous managerial experience, coupled with excellent interpersonal and customer service skills to provide the highest level of service to Canadian and/or partner nation clientele.

In addition, you will assist with recreational activities and events. Keeping the military energized ensures they are mentally and physically ready to sustain the difficulties of military operations, and live healthy, balanced lives.

Qualifications Needed
  • College diploma or certificate in Business Administration, Sports Administration, Recreation Management, or a related field
  • A valid driver’s license (Province)
  • Canadian citizenship
  • Must have a valid Canadian passport
Experience
  • Planning, coordinating and managing multi‑business operations
  • Applying policies, procedures, regulations, and applicable legislation
  • Managing facilities

  • Planning, coordinating and evaluating the operations of establishments engaged in retail sales

Additional Qualifications Prior to Deployment
  • Completion of a health, dental and psychosocial assessment
  • Security screening
  • Standard First Aid with CPR/AED Level C, or willingness to obtain upon hire

Job Information

Position type:
Civilian deployment contracts are 6‑month terms. Deployment start dates may take place within the next 2 years. Hours of work:
Maximum 56 hours per week, which includes weekdays and weekends.
