Position Summary and ResponsibilitiesThis role will provide oversight and leadership for the strategic integration of all rural community offices to support a “one region four communities” approach to the work of United Way. The Director, Regional Affairs will lead the Regional Affairs team to deliver the United Way’s community impact and fundraising programs across the four communities in East Ontario. Working collaboratively across all departments, they will serve as the bridge between United Way and communities across the region, ensuring every community is meaningfully connected to United Way and that United Way is deeply embedded throughout the region.
The role will also champion a shared rural lens across the organization, ensuring that rural communities—including those within Ottawa’s boundaries—are reflected in planning, decision-making, and service delivery. The Director, Regional Affairs will operate in a matrixed leadership capacity, serving as a member of the Community Impact Leadership Team and collaborating with leaders across all departments to champion regional integration strategies related to community impact and strategies.
The role will also be a member of the Resource Development Leadership Team
, contributing to the development and implementation of resource development strategies that support United Way's rural and regional communities.
This role will promote a working environment that is conducive for staff and volunteers to effectively execute the organization’s strategic plan.
This position plays a critical role in the integration of a broad region-wide vision to optimize community impact and resource development, working collectively to enhance and build the strength of the region while enabling individual communities to maintain a strong local presence.
This hybrid position serves the regions of Prescott-Russell, Ottawa, Lanark and Renfrew counties. You are expected to work from the office two days per week.
Job Qualifications Education- University degree or college diploma (or higher) in business, community/social services, philanthropy, or related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Minimum of five (5) years of proven leadership expertise with experience in leading and managing integration of programs, operations, facilitating multi-stakeholder meetings and working with volunteers.
- Minimum of three (3) years in a supervisory position.
- Demonstrated knowledge of community impact and community development.
- Demonstrated knowledge in partnership relationship building and management.
- Experience in fundraising/revenue development, including community fundraising with local businesses and organizations.
- Demonstrated knowledge and experience in change management.
- Previous experience working on behalf of the community within our region of East Ontario. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

- Exceptional interpersonal skills and the ability to inspire confidence and trust in United Way and the ability to manage relationships with multiple stakeholders.
