you'll do:
as a zone manager, you will provide leadership and oversight for north warning system (nws) operations across your assigned zone. You will be responsible for ensuring safe, efficient, and effective site operations while supporting remote teams, managing logistics, and maintaining strong relationships with employees, communities, and clients. This role plays a critical part in supporting canada's northern surveillance infrastructure
- lead, mentor, and support site employees, fostering a strong safety culture and high-performance work environment.oversee
day-to-day operations, maintenance activities, logistics, and resource allocation across your assigned zone.ensure compliance with company policies, collective bargaining agreements, security requirements, and health and safety regulations.collaborate closely with long range radar (lrr) site supervisors, logistics support site (lss) personnel, and internal departments to deliver operational excellence.conduct site inspections and audits, ensuring maintenance, safety, and operational issues are identified, addressed, and reported in a timely manner.develop,
manage, and monitor zone budgets while ensuring effective use of resources.recruit, train, coach, and evaluate employees to build a skilled and engaged workforce.maintain effective communication with internal and external stakeholders, including clients, contractors, and local communities.support emergency preparedness, operational planning, and continuous improvement initiatives.travel regularly to short range radar (srr) and other remote northern sites as required.perform other related duties as assigned.
you are education & certifications
- post-secondary education in a technical, trade, engineering, logistics, or related field.valid driver's license.ability to obtain and maintain a secret security clearance.
- minimum five (5) years of experience in operations, maintenance, logistics, or asset management within a technical, industrial, or remote-site environment.demonstrated leadership experience, including supervision and performance management of employees in a unionized environment.experience managing budgets, operational planning, and multiple priorities in a remote or complex operational setting is considered an asset.
