The goal of this posting is to find a Grant Writer
. A volunteer who researches grant opportunities and crafts proposals that match Family Shed’s mission, which is to build healthy relationships and reduce loneliness and suicide rates.

• Research available grant opportunities and assess fit with Family Shed’s five basic needs (Belonging, Survival, Purpose, Fun, Freedom).
• Develop tailored grant proposals that align the grant provider’s focus with Family Shed’s objectives.
• Prepare and maintain grant application documents, budgets, and supporting materials.
• Track application status and follow up with funders as needed.
• Collaborate with other volunteers to share best practices and build a small grant‑writing team.

• Experience in writing persuasive grant proposals or relevant research is preferred.
• Strong organizational skills, including budgeting and file management.
• Good written communication skills, with attention to clarity and storytelling.
• Comfortable working independently and with a small volunteer group.
• Preference for older or retired volunteers who have a stable financial background and a desire to contribute their experience.
• Proficiency in French or Spanish is a plus.

• Funds to cover transit and meals after meetings.
• Access to a Shared Drive for files and grant applications.
• Annual recognition of volunteers.
