Make an impact as a full-time Triage Outreach Worker with Ottawa Inner City Health. Engage with vulnerable populations to connect them to vital health services and resources.
OICH seeks four dedicated Triage Outreach Workers focused on health care equity. These workers will assist individuals facing homelessness and complex challenges at 256 King Edward. The role emphasizes harm reduction, rapport building, and collaboration with community partners to foster recovery-oriented support.
Key Responsibilities:
• Build rapport with clients experiencing homelessness
• Respond to clients under the influence compassionately
• Identify suitable clients for recovery-oriented referrals
• Support clients in attending their appointments
• Collaborate with SOGH staff and community partners
Requirements:
• Personal experience with mental health or substance use
• Knowledge of harm reduction and recovery programs
• Strong people skills and non-judgmental approach
• Fluency in English;
French/Inuktitut is a bonus
• Ability to work reliably in various conditions
