Become a pivotal Human Rights Policy Advisor based in Tegucigalpa, Honduras, supporting Asociación Hondureña de Energía Renovable. Engage in consulting for renewable energy and advocate for human rights policies.
This 5-month volunteer role starts in August 2026, focusing on developing and integrating robust human rights policies within member companies. You will require intermediate Spanish skills and be eligible if you are a Canadian citizen or permanent resident. Your responsibilities will include facilitating workshops and developing strategies for stakeholder engagement to ensure that human rights principles are embedded in organizational practices.
Key Responsibilities:
• Facilitate workshops for effective consultation processes
• Prepare detailed consultation reports with stakeholders
• Develop proposals for environmental impact assessments
• Create best-practice publications to guide advocacy
• Integrate human rights principles in energy sectors
Requirements:
• Degree in International Development, Environmental Sciences, or Social Justice
• 2+ years in project design and execution
• 2+ years in monitoring and evaluation
• Understanding of climate change issues
• Strong critical analysis skills
