Cultural Elder Support Worker

Join Inuuqatigiit Centre as a Cultural Elder Support Worker in Ottawa, Ontario. Engage with Inuit Elders through community programming and ensure safe, supportive environments.

This role focuses on providing holistic support and cultural programming for Elders under the Manager of Family Well-Being. Responsibilities include planning outreach strategies, conducting program evaluations, and coordinating Elder involvement in community activities. Your contributions will enhance engagement and foster connection within the community.

Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee planning and implementation of outreach strategies

• Facilitate culturally appropriate Elder programming and activities

• Maintain a list of Elders for program support

• Resolve concerns related to Elder engagement programming

• Provide weekly check-ins and assistance to Elders

Requirements:

• Inuit descent required for this position

• Post-secondary education in a relevant field

• Minimum one year of experience with Inuit communities

• Fluency in Inuktitut required for communication

• Strong organizational and problem-solving skills
