Position Summary and Responsibilities

United Way holds strong relationships with many sectors, elected officials, social services, and community leaders.

Under the All That Kids Can Be and Healthy People, Strong Communities focus areas, we leverage these relationships by convening community champions, practitioners, and experts to strengthen coordinated, community-based responses that improve outcomes for children, youth, families, and communities across East Ontario. We connect sectors to support organizations with the tools, relationships, and shared approaches needed to advance equity, and well‑being, particularly for those facing systemic barriers.

We do this through initiatives that unite key stakeholders around shared priorities, including project step and United For All. These efforts strengthen coordinated responses, align community priorities, and advance collective action focused on preventing youth addiction and overcoming hate and violence across our communities.

The coordinator supports the design and delivery of engagement activities that convene experts, strengthen partnerships, and reduce systemic barriers for youth and families experiencing harms related to problematic substance and technology use, and contributing to safer, more resilient communities.

The role supports planning and delivery of events, meetings, and partner engagement activities in both virtual and in‑person formats. This role connects partners to tools, knowledge, and relationships that advance community‑based solutions across Ottawa, Prescott‑Russell, Lanark, and Renfrew Counties.

This hybrid position is based in Ottawa and serves the regions of Prescott‑Russell, Ottawa, Lanark and Renfrew counties. You are expected to work from the office two days per week. While most activities are conducted in English, French language skills are considered an asset to support engagement with Francophone and bilingual partners.
