About the Role

The Director, Corporate Philanthropy is a senior fundraising leader responsible for growing and strengthening the Foundation’s corporate philanthropy portfolio. Reporting to the Vice President, Innovation, Corporate and Strategic Partnerships, this role leads corporate fundraising strategy, team performance, donor and partner relationships, and revenue growth across local, national and strategic markets.

The Director leads a team responsible for corporate fundraising, partnership development and sponsorship growth, while also managing a personal portfolio of high value corporate donors and prospects. This role works closely with colleagues across Philanthropy, Community Engagement, Events, Communications and campaign leadership to identify shared opportunities, strengthen stewardship and maximize corporate support for kids, youth and families served by CHEO.

Primary Responsibilities

Strategic Growth and Portfolio Leadership

  • Develop and implement corporate philanthropy strategies aligned with CHEO Foundation’s strategic plan, revenue goals and campaign priorities.
  • Grow and manage a strong corporate pipeline, with a focus on major gift opportunities, sponsorship growth, employee engagement, philanthropic partnerships and long term relationship development.
  • Use data, pipeline reporting, market insight and performance trends to inform strategy, prioritize opportunities and support revenue growth.

Corporate Donor and Partner Relationships

  • Manage a personal portfolio of corporate donors and prospects, developing strategic relationships and advancing high value gift opportunities.
  • Lead and support corporate solicitations connected to campaign priorities and ongoing needs.
  • Ensure corporate donors and partners receive thoughtful, consistent and high-quality stewardship aligned with Foundation-wide standards.
  • Represent CHEO Foundation with corporate donors, partners, volunteers and community stakeholders in a way that strengthens trust, credibility and long‑term engagement.

National Programs and Cross Foundation Collaboration

  • Lead and support CHEO Foundation’s participation in national corporate giving programs, such as Canada’s Children’s Hospital Foundations and Children’s Miracle Network.
  • Work collaboratively with fundraising colleagues, campaign volunteers and senior leaders to leverage relationships, align strategies and advance shared opportunities.
  • Partner with Philanthropy, Community Engagement, Events, Communications and other internal teams to identify shared prospects and integrate corporate opportunities across Foundation priorities.

Team Leadership and Performance

  • Lead, coach and develop direct reports, setting clear goals, priorities and accountability structures.
