Job Description

Reporting to the Banquet Leadership Team, responsibilities and essential job functions include but are not limited to the following:

Consistently offer professional, friendly and engaging service

Assist guests regarding menu items in an informative and helpful way

Serve all food and beverage items for assigned banquet meetings

Have full knowledge of beverage lists

Have full knowledge of all menu items being served

Set tables according to event order, clients’ specifications and Fairmont Standards

Set rooms for functions that have food venues required

Follow outlet policies, procedures and service standards

Follow all safety and sanitation policies when handling food and beverage

Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Previous experience in the culinary field required

Previous service experience an asset

Previous point of sale system experience an asset

Excellent communication and organizational skills

Strong interpersonal and problem solving abilities

Highly responsible and reliable

Ability to work well under pressure in a fast paced environment

Ability to work cohesively with fellow colleagues as part of a team

Ability to focus attention on guest needs, remaining calm and courteous at all times

Smart Serve Certification required

Bartending experience is an asset

Bilingual is an asset

Schedule flexibility (early mornings, late nights during the weekdays)

Additional Information

Physical Aspects of Position (included but not limited to):

Constant standing and walking throughout shift

Must be able to lift heavy trays (8 plates)

Occasional kneeling, pushing, pulling, lifting

Occasional ascending or descending stairs and ramps

Hours of Work:

Part-time employees on list "B" must choose up to and including twenty-four (24) regular hours in any work week
