About the Opportunity:
Our client, a well-estabished industrial and contractor-focused distributor, is looking for an experienced Account Manager to manage and expand key customer relationships in Kanata, ON.
- Oversee the expansion of existing territory by visiting regions to meet the needs of potential customers.
- Develop long-lasting relationships with key vendor partners.
- Balance pricing competitiveness with growth objectives.
- Proactively communicate with Management and Operations on all aspects of customer alliances to set appropriate expectations consistent with contract terms and address issues immediately.
- Provide quotations, technical support, literature, and other materials to customers.
- Participate in setting branch sales objectives and be accountable for achieving sales results (gross margin, account targets).
- Support and/or develop new accounts to build and grow the territory; focus on prospecting and developing new accounts.
- Provide feedback and recommendations on new products, services, and market conditions to customers and branch management.
- Participate in trade shows, training, and associated product meetings where appropriate.
- Assist the Inside Sales Team with incoming calls and inquiries.
- Other job-related duties as required.
- Completion of College Diploma, University Degree or equivalent experience.
- Demonstrated interpersonal, problem solving, and communication skills to effectively build positive relationships with team members and customers.
- Attention to detail with the ability to meet deadlines and work effectively within time constraints.
- Ability to thrive in a performance-focused and results-oriented environment.
- Strong business acumen and strong consultative selling skills.
- Proven negotiation skills.
- Exceptional communication skills, active listening, and presentation skills.
- Valid Ontario Driver's License with consistent access to a personal vehicle.
- Previous experience in sales and/or customer service is a strong asset.
- Bilingual is considered an asset.
- Technical Plumbing and/or HVAC knowledge.
- Experience using Word, Excel, and Outlook is an asset.
